For the Dang Record.....

For the record...

Deron Williams may be (and is in my opinion) just as good as Carmelo Anthony... if not better, because he not only scores 20 a night, but he also dishes the ball from the PG position, averaging close to 10 assists a season over his 7 year career, and also controls the game and its pace from that position. He is top 3 PGs in the NBA, if not the best. He is one of only 12 players since the merger in the 70's to average at least 17.0 points per game and 9.0 assists per game in their first 7 seasons. Guy is a beast and the PERFECT piece to build your team around... so start working Proky and Jigga cuz things are heating up... Brook will be a good number 2 I guarantee that also. Man has never had a true number one to make him a number two... So now he will show his true colors and play like he was last year. That being said, this team still has a long way to go. While Anthony Morrow is improving and Kris Humphries is getting better, they need to drastically improve to be major contributors and legit long term starters. The Nets need some reliable big men, another 15 to 20 point a game scorer, and a lethal 3 point shooter who can be counted on for production. But D-Williams will make the whole team, bench included, WAY better. He is THAT good...

That being said, Carmelo Anthony is also THAT good. The Knicks have a legitimate PG for two years (possibly) in Chauncey Billups. He is the guy who is going to set the pace of the game and dish the ball for the Knickerbockers, and forget his age at 34, the man is a proven winner with tremendous talent. And he isn't breaking down much yet... he still averages good numbers and plays smooth. So in other words, Carmelo has an opportunity to be as valuable a player as ever and put up huge numbers. Especially with my boy Amare taking up half the eyeballs out there with him... Talk about a one, two punch. Amare is still a beast... Don't forget that. Then you throw in two proven starters in Billups and shooting guard/small forward Landry Fields (second best rookie so this year behind Blake Griffin. Fact), and unproven but defensively talented center Ronny Turiaf.. and you don't have a bad starting five. And you know your due for AT LEAST 15 to 25 every night from Melo and Amare individually. Scoring wasn't the problem with this team, but it's more lethal and potent than ever now... now lets look for a big center in the offseason or at the deadline today and another big forward who is clutch on D. Let's go baby......

END RESULT:

BOTH TEAMS MADE OUT WITH A WINNING DEAL AND PLAYER AND BOTH PLAYERS ARE TOP 10 TALENTS. IF D-WILLIAMS SIGNS AN EXTENSION AFTER THIS SEASON, NEW YORK/NEW JERSEY BASKETBALL MAY BE BACK FOR A PERIOD... LET'S GO. GET AMPED. WE'RE BACK BITCHES.

Salutations as always,

Tim Dreez
